Video marketing presentation = busy week

Hello everyone! :) Back to business with writing. You know what, I actually kinda enjoy blogging. It's somehow extremely relaxing to just put all your thoughts about something in one confined space. Anyway, that is not today's topic. Today's topic is my digital business course week ..4? I want to say 4.

Week started on Monday with a guest lecturer again. This time it was one of Ms. Ikonen's friends; Tomasz Odrobinski. He made a presentation telling about himself and the companies he's worked for. He told about his background first, and for example that he studied in Hanken Svenska Handelshögskolan, which is an extremely appreciated business school here in Finland. Then Mr. Odrobinski went on to tell a bit about his work experience. One of them was the company Erento. Erento is a rental service, where you can basically rent out anything from cars and vehicles to venues and building equipment. Now the company itself doesn't make and manufacture any these items, but rather they seek out people that have expertise in these, make them and wish to rent them onwards. Pretty genious I think. In that the company gets profit for only acting as a platform for people who want to rent out their things and vise versa people who wish to rent things for their own use. This company acts very similar to for example airbnb or uber. It's a very modernized invention I think. And also very clever from the business mans point of view. It's perhaps the least amount of work for maxmized profits and on top of that in ensures that people who manufacture these things actually get them sold.

Another company that Mr.Odrobinski has worked for, and currently is working for, is eSupplie Oy. Also a very similar idea actually, but the items that they sell in that platform are solely building particles I believe. That makes the target customer base a bit more narrow but considering that every machine or electronic device is built from some kinds of particles, it certainly does not mean that the company wouldn't have demand.

Here's a quick view of Erento. You guys can check it out at: https://www.erento.fi/

And here is eSupplie, website is: http://www.esupplie.com/fi

In case you ever need to build something :D

Back to this week's task! So we needed to construct an approximately 30 minute long presentation on a topic of our own choise. We get to be teachers for a day! My team chose Video Marketing, since we have for some reason taken the topic of videos as a very key aspect of this course as well. Not that I mind, it's a lot of fun but it's also so much work. So we first started off by kinda planning the whole presentation, although I'm not going to lie, this week was definitely the hardest to plan and execute. I think the topic was just so broad that we didn't even really know what to begin with. We knew we wanted an animation to tell all the statistics that came with why you should use videos in your marketing strategy. That took a while to make. Then we wanted to make a video showing 'how you should make a video.' That also took a while to make. We managed to finish it on Thursday by working long days and basically always being the last ones to leave school. I think by now it's becoming our second home.

Here's the finished presentation:

I hope you like it and find it useful!

On Thursday we saw some other groups perform their presentations which were also extremely interesting. The first one was about these two boys in my class and their project with Puma. Pretty cool, the video was shot with a GoPro so it looked really cool!

One of the topics LaureaES, our schools own student organization I guess you could say. They have a lot of cool events for example. This time they we're talking about the upcoming Nordic Business Forum and the livestream our school is going to have of it. I signed up straight away. It's this upcoming week and I'm gonna go listen to Simon Sinek and Garri Kasparov! Im actually so excited. I'll make a long blog post about that :D

We also had a group talking about LinkedIn and how to set up an account. It was well made and informative for any of you that don't yet have one. Here's mine if you wan't to check it out: https://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=AAIAABYIoQkBfuew3QXn52K1t4V-Pe1dQfQm-lQ&trk=nav_responsive_tab_profile_pic

Little self promo right there :D

Another group did it on Growth Hacking, which was such an interesting topic. And the presentation was well made. Growth Hacking basically means, getting more users for your business by 'non-traditional marketing manners.' Their first example was airbnb, which would also put the rooms or houses that they were renting out to not only their website but craigslist. This enabled them to reach also all the craigslist users, which were millions at that stage. Geniooous!

Anyway, long post I'm sorry!! Get back to you next week :)
